Vintage Button Cuff Bracelet - What a Beauty!

I love everything Vintage! Especially Vintage Buttons! I include them in a variety of my designs - necklaces, headbands, sewn items and especially these gorgeous bracelets. For me, each vintage button is like a foreign coin. They all have a story. I always find myself wondering what the history of each button is...where it was made, the type of garment they were made for and where it may have traveled when it was worn.

One of my personal favourite designs are my Vintage Button Bracelets. I make them in a variety of widths, colours and themes.

My latest creation is this Vintage Button Cuff Bracelet was made using 1 1/3 inch black elastic banding and a large assortment of silver vintage buttons. Each button is individually sewn onto this bracelet using heavy duty upholstery thread to ensure durability. I have these available in antique brass, brass or silver and they retail for $65.00 CAD each.

I am the happy Wife of Brent and Mom of 5 year old Ava. It's not unusual for me to have a variety of projects on the go at any given time. I love multi-tasking!

My grandmother Amelia first taught me to sew when I was 9 years old. My first project ever was a skirt make from a faded old yellow pillow case. Let me tell you, I wore that skirt with a huge sense of pride and accomplishment.

I remember my Grandmother telling me that sewing is becoming a lost art and that it was a shame there are many women today who don't know how to sew. Sewing was an absolute necessity for her while growing up in the early 1900s and was essential skill for surviving through the Great Depression. I am preserving the art of sewing with each item that is produced in my design room.

DIY projects get me excited while Nature inspires me...I love to look at objects created by Mother Nature Herself and convert them into my own fabric versions.

I started teaching Ava to sew at the age of 3. She is my biggest Fan and can't wait to see what I have made for her.
