2nd Batch of Heart Shaped Crayons

I just finished a second batch of Heart Shaped Crayons today. I love how no 2 crayons are identical and you can really mix and match the colours for a different look each time.
I have to admit that my thumbnails are still sore from peeling the paper off the broken crayons yesterday and started using a paring knife today to get the job done..much better!
I can't wait to get these little cuties wrapped up in time for Valentine's Day for gift giving.

I am the happy Wife of Brent and Mom of 5 year old Ava. It's not unusual for me to have a variety of projects on the go at any given time. I love multi-tasking!

"For me, sewing is like a good book. It's hard to put down and each of my designs tell a story".

My grandmother Amelia first taught me to sew when I was 9 years old. My first project ever was a skirt make from a faded old yellow pillow case. Let me tell you, I wore that skirt with a huge sense of pride and accomplishment.

I remember my Grandmother telling me that sewing is becoming a lost art and that it was a shame there are many women today who don't know how to sew. Sewing was an absolute necessity for her while growing up in the early 1900s and was essential skill for surviving through the Great Depression. I am preserving the art of sewing with each item that is produced in my design room.

DIY projects get me excited while Nature inspires me...I love to look at objects created by Mother Nature Herself and convert them into my own fabric versions.

I started teaching Ava to sew at the age of 3. She is my biggest Fan and can't wait to see what I have made for her.
